The Hummingbirds have found my feeder and make many visits a day now. I thought they weren't coming because usually you have to have the feeder out by May for them to find you. So I dutifully had it out in May but the nectar just dripped away the month with nary a wee sipper. Then in June, with the second batch brewed, they found us. I read in The Handbook of Nature Study that Hummingbirds typically nest in June after their long migration but this year has been so atypical weather wise that perhaps they are off schedule. I want to find a nest since reading they are only the size of a walnut.

A wee explanation: this website was created as a way to amplify the daily surprise of seeing glory in one small life. The notebook entries represented here are all selected from things actually lived and noted on paper in an effort to live the full life British educator Charlotte Mason so ably championed.
